INDICATIONS
Levofloxacin is to be considered a drug of last resort when all other antibiotics have failed.
For the treatment of:
- Bacterial infections, caused by Levofloxacin sensitive microorganisms, such as Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus spp, Streptococcus spp, Enterobacter cloacae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeurginosa, Escherichia coli, Serratia marcescens, Haemophilus spp., Proteus mirabilis, Legionella pneumophilia, Moraxilla catarrhalis, Campylobacter spp., Mycoplasma pneumoniae, and Peptostreptococcus sp.
- Yellow and white dysentery, enteritis, pericarditis, ovarian inflammation, green suppuration bacillus, staphylococcus infection, cholera etc.
DOSAGE AND ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION
For oral administration through the drinking water. Shake well before use.
Dosage: 1-2 ml per 3 litres of drinking water, during 7 consecutive days.
Medicated drinking water should be used within 24 hours. This product therefore needs to be changed daily. Absorption of water from other sources during treatment should be avoided.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Do not administer in case of hypersensitivity or resistance to the active ingredient.
Do not administer together with substances containing magnesium, aluminium, calcium, ferrous sulphate, iron and zinc.
ADVERSE REACTION
None known.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD
Meat: 9 days.
Eggs: 9 days.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
For oral use only.
Clean the drinking pots thoroughly in order to prevent re-infection and sediment.
Avoid placing drinking water in the sunlight.
Levofloxacin may induce irritation. Avoid inhaling and contact with skin and eyes.
STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Keep in a dry, dark place in a well-closed container, between 2-25°C. Keep out of reach and sight of children. Avoid inhaling and contact with skin and eyes.
WASTE DISPOSAL ADVICE
Dispose of waste material in a way approved by the competent authorities.
