COMPOSITION

Erythromycin thiocyanate 200 mg
TARGET ANIMALS
Poultry.
INDICATIONS
For the treatment of:
- Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) caused by Mycoplasma infections;
- Infectious (respiratory) diseases due to erythromycin sensitive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus (e.g. infectious arthritis), Haemophilus paragallinarum (e.g. infectious coryza),
- Streptococci infections and Pasteurella multocida (e.g. pasteurellosis; pneumonia);
- Synovitis;
- Bronchitis resulting from stress due to overcrowded housing, vaccination or other stress.
DOSAGE AND ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION
For oral administration through the drinking water.
Dosage: 50- 100 g per 100 litres of drinking water, during 3-5 consecutive days.
Medicated drinking water should be used within 24 hours. This product therefore needs to be changed daily. Absorption of water from other sources during treatment should be avoided.
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Do not administer in case of hypersensitivity or resistance to the active ingredient.
Do not administer to animals with a seriously impaired liver and/or renal function.
ADVERSE REACTION
None known.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD
Meat: 4 days.
Eggs: 6 days.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
For oral use only. Severely ill individuals tend to drink less and may need simultaneous treatment, preferably by parental medications.
Clean the drinking pots thoroughly in order to prevent re-infection and sediment. Avoid placing drinking water in the sunlight.
Erythromycin may induce irritation. Avoid inhaling and contact with skin and eyes.
STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS
Keep in a dry, dark place in a well-closed container, between 2-25°C. Keep out of reach and sight of children. Avoid inhaling and contact with skin and eyes.
WASTE DISPOSAL ADVICE
Dispose of waste material in a way approved by the competent authorities.
